Hexaphone Vocal Ensemble is holding auditions for an alto, and a second tenor (‘bari-tenor’), to sing from April to July 2013 and beyond. The six-member ensemble performs a cappella repertoire in a variety of genres including classical, folk, romantic, and jazz, one voice to a part. Hexaphone is especially known for its successful performances of new music and Canadian composition and, at the 2012 Kathaumixw International Festival, won the Elmer Isler award for Best Performance of a Canadian composition. Applicants should be confident in a range of styles and repertoire and able to commit to a regular rehearsal schedule. Music degrees and equivalent performance experience will be considered as well as vocal ability and blend.
